One book that stood out to me this holiday season, was Beaton: The Art of the Scrapbook. Cecil Beaton photographed American icons like Marilyn Monroe, Pablo Picasso, Audrey Hepburn and Marlon Brando from the mid-fifties through the early seventies. Assouline presents his private scrapbooks, filled with personal collections of the man who helped invent the cult of personality.
